Targeting COVID-19 vaccinations in vulnerable populations

Background

In order to increase the vaccination rate of vulnerable populations across South Eastern NSW against COVID-19, COORDINARE - the South Eastern NSW Primary Health Network (PHN) is providing support for innovative, local, short-term activities.

The aim is to facilitate the vaccination of vulnerable populations in collaboration with COVID-19 vaccination providers including general practices, pharmacies, contracted providers and state health services before the end of November 2021.

Funding opportunity

Grant funding of $3,000 is available to support activity that increases the rate of the COVID-19 vaccination of vulnerable populations across South Eastern NSW.

The purpose of the funding is to support existing COVID-19 vaccination providers in their activities within South Eastern NSW that increase the rate of vaccinations to vulnerable populations, including aged and disability care workers, those without access to Medicare and individuals who cannot access or have difficulty accessing the vaccine through existing mechanisms.

These targeted, short-term local solutions should augment existing activities and arrangements (such as state and territory focused approaches and other vaccination pathways and sites), not replace or duplicate them. Organisations eligible to receive funding under this initiative are those organisations already registered with the Commonwealth Department of Health to be COVID-19 vaccination providers in South Eastern NSW. For more information, please read the grant guidelines.
